Your tech may need to do the same for you if you run into this issue as well. Mine will need to be cut off by my local tech or a luthier who have the tools to do it. The solder used is some kind of alloy that was resistant to any amount of heat I could use including a flame from a butane mini-torch. But you may also run into some difficulty removing the stock covers as I did. You can buy nickel silver covers online for a Casino with the proper pole spacing for about $30 shipped w/tax. Number one they are not nickel silver but more likely chromed brass so they will suppress the highs somewhat. Now, about those covers on yours.and mine which is a 2012 MIC. If not your present metal covers won't work. They will work but I'm not certain whether or not those pickups use the same 48mm (neck) 50mm (bridge) pole spacing used on as Casino.
